🚨 Dortmund escapes shock with brilliant comeback win over Bochum

Borussia Dortmund overcame a two-goal deficit and beat VfL Bochum at Signal-Iduna-Park.

Dortmund desperately needed some positivity going into the evening after a 5-1 defeat to Stuttgart in their last game, but they got the worst possible start to the game when Matúš Bero capped off a brilliant Bochum counterattack, starring in a stormy one Evening at Signal Iduna Park.

To make matters worse, Dani de Wit shot the visitors' second goal into the open net after a poor performance from Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, triggering whistles and jeers from the boisterous home crowd.

While it looked like the first half would fizzle out with a big hole for Dortmund, Serhou Guirassy threw the hosts a lifeline when he headed home from close range to halve the lead.

As the pressure mounted after the break, Dortmund's turnaround received a further boost when Guirassy was brought down in the penalty area and the referee had to award the hosts a penalty. Emre Can coolly converted the penalty that followed to equalize.

After briefly taking their foot off the gas, Dortmund's pressure built up again in the final 15 minutes as Serhou Guirassy showed why he was Dortmund's top target in the summer by scoring in the third period that evening shot and gave the home team the lead.

The final nail was driven into Bochum's coffin when second-half substitute Felix Nmecha's shot somehow went through the Bochum goalkeeper and crawled over the line, extending Dortmund's lead to two in the final minutes.
