A first look at the possible line-up for the season opener

On the eve of Chicago's first preseason game, the Blackhawks took to practice ice Tuesday, potentially giving a taste of what their lineup will look like on Wednesday at the United Center against the Detroit Red Wings.

Based on numerous reports from the sportswriters in attendance, the following lineup seems to be a good guess as to what will be happening at 1901 W. Madison in just over 24 hours:

And some of these D pairings could stay together until the start of the regular season in October:

Early Tuesday, a handful of Blackhawks junior players were among the first to be cut from training camp. Those players all returned to their respective junior teams:

A promising Blackhawks player who is on the verge of seeing an extended period of action at the NHL level was absent from practice on Tuesday, although this does not appear to be a cause for concern:

And that's pretty much all there is to report from Tuesday's practice sessions. Next up is the aforementioned season opener at home against Detroit, as the regular season is just two weeks away.
