Yankees fans who disrupted Mookie Betts in the World Series will no longer be allowed to attend

These two New York Yankees fans are not coming back.

Calling it “outrageous and unacceptable physical contact,” the Yankees announced in a statement Wednesday afternoon that the two fans who disrupted the Los Angeles Dodgers' Mookie Betts during the first inning of Game 4 of the World Series would not be attending Game 5 should attend on Thursday.

According to an ESPN report, the two fans, Austin Capobianco and John Peter, were told they would be left behind despite grabbing Betts' glove and prying it open to release the ball along the right field wall after a fly ball from Gleyber Torres on Tuesday night.

“The safety of players, fans and stadium staff is the fundamental element of every event at Yankee Stadium and must not be compromised,” the Yankees’ statement said.

YANKEES vs. DODGERS: What you should know about World Series Game 5

“Tonight is the last home game of the year and we want all the passion of our fans to be on display. Yankee Stadium is known for its energy and intensity, but the exuberance of supporting your team can never result in intentionally attacking players at physical risk.

“The Yankees and Major League Baseball have a zero-tolerance policy toward the type of behavior exhibited last night. These fans will not be permitted to attend tonight’s game in any capacity.”

Capobianco, who is reportedly a season ticket holder, and Peter were ruled out of Tuesday night's game. Torres, the Yankees' leadoff hitter, was ejected by head umpire Mark Carlson due to fan interference.

The Yankees avoided elimination with an 11-4 victory over the Dodgers in Game 4 on an Anthony Volpe grand slam.

The two teams will play Game 5 in the final home game of the season at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night at 8:08 p.m.

The Dodgers lead the series 3-1 and have a chance to secure their eighth World Series title. The Yankees can send the series back to Los Angeles with a win on Friday night.
