Travis Kelce teases his role as a “grotesque.”

As Travis Kelce makes the leap from the field to the big screen, he announces his TV debut in the Ryan Murphy-verse.

The three-time Super Bowl champion recently discussed his role in Ryan Murphy's latest FX series grotesquewhich premieres Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET/PT, noting that Murphy “did an incredible job” on the horror drama show.

“I can’t wait to see how everyone reacts to me starring in a mystery thriller. Kind of scary. What the hell is going on? “It’s going to make you think now,” Travis told his brother Jason Kelce New heights Podcast. “Buckle up, boys!”

Jason then asked if his character was “even alive” and asked if there was one Sixth sense Element to which Travis quipped, “Are any of us alive, Jason?” No. …There might be a little bit of that. Not me – maybe but.”

The ten-part drama is about a series of crimes that have unsettled a small community. Detective Lois Tryon (Niecy Nash-Betts) feels like these crimes are personal, as if someone – or something – is mocking her. With no clues and unsure where to turn, she enlists the help of Sister Megan (Micaela Diamond), a nun and journalist at the Catholic guardian. As Lois and Sister Megan piece together clues, they find themselves caught in a sinister web that seems to raise more questions than answers.

Details about Travis' character remain under wraps.

“I'm excited. I haven't seen anything yet,” he previously said on the podcast. “I've been kind of just focused on training camp and football while everything was being edited and finalized. I'm just focused on the season right now.”

Travis added: “You read the scripts and everything, and I'm not going to lie, I was more focused on my roles than understanding the whole grand scheme of the show.” At some points I watched the trailer and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s really interesting.’ I’ll definitely dive in and check it out for sure.”

Murphy previously said during a press conference that he was willing to “write” and “tailor” a character specifically for Travis after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end “stated he was interested in getting into acting… it ended with me saying, 'Okay, well, I'll keep you in mind and maybe we'll come up with something.' And he said, 'No, I want to do it now.' I've got three months now and I'd really like to have it all.'”

After Murphy decided to write him a role in the series, he said he “immediately loved” Travis, adding, “He was really great.” He worked with an acting coach for several months. He showed up unpredictably. He knew every text. He was so professional. He was so dedicated. He kept telling me, 'I'm really coachable.' Train me, coach me.' I did that and in the end he was a real joy and I would love to continue working with him on this and other things. I can't say enough about him as a leader. He’s just the nicest, sweetest…everything you think about him is true.”

Nash-Betts recently reiterated that her scene partner was “very professional.” People“He was very open about whether a note or a suggestion was made. So accessible.”

Murphy and Travis' co-stars celebrated the show's premiere in New York City on Wednesday, while the Chiefs star prepares to face the Chargers on Sunday in Los Angeles.
