Cue the New York Giants' Week 4 loss to the Dallas Cowboys

The New York Giants entered Thursday night's contest having lost 13 of their last 14 games against the Dallas Cowboys, nearly ending that streak. In the end, however, their misery continues in prime time and against the Cowboys.

Brian Daboll's group played well between the 20s but had no answer for the Cowboys' redzone defense. They also played well defensively, but couldn't come up with the key stop when needed.

With the loss, the Giants fall to 1-3 this season and remain alone in the basement of the NFC East.

Here's a quick look at the duds and duds (and studly duds) of Thursday's loss:

For the fourth week in a row, rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers played his best. He was beaten up midway through the game and tried to hang on, but ultimately left the game after suffering a concussion late in the fourth quarter while trying to make a game-saving catch. He finished the game with 12 catches for 115 yards, effectively carrying the offense on his back.

For the second week in a row, cornerback Deonte Banks struggled with the opposing No. 1 and was beaten for a key touchdown. Despite moving all over the field, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb made the most of his encounters with Banks. The Giants have a very real problem here.

Wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson suffered a hard and costly drop in the fourth quarter, but had been nearly flawless up to that point. He completed 11 receptions on 14 carries for 71 yards and several key first downs. It's clear he's now WR2 behind rookie Malik Nabers.

The Giants desperately needed a solid performance from their running backs on Thursday night and they didn't get it. Devin Singletary gained just 24 yards on 14 carries (1.7 YPC) and almost fumbled again. He did have a good 14-yard reception, but the Giants needed more from him.

The box score won't shine when looking at Kayvon Thibodeaux's performance outside of his one sack, but he played well against both the run and the pass on Thursday night. One could argue that he needed to do more since Dexter Lawrence was double- and triple-teamed on almost every single snap, but the mistakes come from the rest of the defensive line, not Thibodeaux. He finished the game with three tackles (two solo, one for a loss), a QB hit and a sack, but again interfered with Dak Prescott on multiple occasions.

As mentioned with Singletary, the Giants needed more from their backs and rookie Tyrone Tracy Jr. also came up short. He managed just two yards on four carries (0.5 YPC) and recovered a special teams fumble that could have proven disastrous had it not been recovered by tight end Chris Manhertz. But like Singletary, he also had a nice reception of 19 yards.

Quarterback Daniel Jones looked great against the Cowboys, until he didn't. The good: DJ was confident with the football, didn't really put him in danger, and his interception came as a Hail Mary and ended the game. Otherwise, he was efficient, decisive and, for the most part, unerring. “Most of the time” is the key word there. The Bad: There are three or four passes on Thursday that everyone will be on, and Jones wishes he had them back. Twice he missed Darius Slayton on potential big play/touchdown passes (one on a free play) and he underthrew at least one other. He finished the game 29 of 40 for 281 yards and the inconsequential interception. The Giants' receivers also dropped at least three passes, including the aforementioned Robinson on a key fourth down.
