Major League Baseball's final week was rocked on Wednesday by the postponement of two crucial games between the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves – they were rescheduled for a doubleheader on Monday, a day after the scheduled end of the regular season.

This is a real slam-dunk in the NL playoff race, with the Mets, Braves and Arizona Diamondbacks just one game apart for the final two wild-card spots beginning Thursday. Until those games are completed (or the Diamondbacks are eliminated over the weekend), we won't know the 2024 postseason matchups.
