After registering historical collections for pre-sales, Tollywood star NTR's much-awaited pan-India action drama Devara hit theaters yesterday. The film received a unanimously positive response from fans and critics, which was also reflected in the worldwide box office on the film's first day.

The Devara makers took to social media this morning and announced that the Koratala Siva directorial grossed a whopping Rs 172 Crore at the global box office. NTR created history by clearing several records on opening days outside RRR in India and overseas destinations. The film grossed nearly $3.40 million in North America on its opening day.

Devara collected a sensational share of Rs 54.21 crore (excluding VAT) on the first day from Andhra, Nizam and Ceded regions. This is a historic opening and is right next to Rajamouli's RRR, which also stars NTR. On the other hand, Devara's Hindi version grossed over Rs 750 crore across the country.

Bollywood stars Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor played lead roles in Devara, produced by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Mikkilineni Sudhakar and Kosaraju Hari Krishna.
