He made Premier League history and became the first player to score four goals in the first half of a game.

But despite becoming a record-breaker, Palmer himself may not have been all that surprised by his performance, as he had apparently predicted it earlier this season.

In a video that is now going viral on social media, Palmer was asked to put three fingers up during a photo shoot, which constituted a hat trick.

“How about four?” he asked the crew.

He then counted one, two, three with his right hand before throwing his left hand up with four fingers.

Blues fans immediately remembered his Mystic Meg moment when he scored his fourth goal of the afternoon.

“And he just scored 4 points, yeah he's too sick,” one person on X responded to the video.

Another said: “He's just the best player in the league at this point Cole Palmer, man what a player.”

Saturday marked Palmer's third ever hat-trick for Chelsea, the other two coming against Manchester United and Everton last season.

His record has equaled that of Chelsea legends Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard in the Premier League.

Palmer has now scored a whopping 31 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions.

28 of them came from the Premier League.

Brighton had taken the lead through Georginio Rutter but his early goal was canceled out by Palmer in the 21st minute.

Shortly afterwards, Palmer gave his team the lead with a penalty, and three minutes later he secured the hat trick.

Brighton's Carlos Baleba converted a goal to make it 3-2, but Palmer struck again just before the half-time whistle and completed his quad.

The Blues are in second place in the table at the time of writing.
