SoCal earthquake: Magnitude 3.2 quakes occurred off the coast of Malibu and in the Fontana area

MALIBU, Calif. (KABC) — Two separate magnitude 3.2 earthquakes struck Southern California Saturday afternoon.

At around 4:11 p.m., the US Geological Survey reported a magnitude 3.2 quake in the Fontana area. The quake was about 9 miles deep.

A USGS map showed the quake was centered between Fontana and Rancho Cucamonga, with tremors felt from La Verne in the west to San Bernardino in the east. It was also felt as far north as Corona and Lytle Creek.

USGS also reported a magnitude 3.2 earthquake off the coast of Malibu around 2:38 p.m. In this quake, tremors were felt outside Thousand Oaks to the north, near Port Hueneme to the east, and as far south as Canoga Park to the west, according to the USGS map.

Saturday's quake near Malibu came after a magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck the same area about two weeks ago. During this quake, tremors were felt up to 60 miles away throughout Southern California.

There were no immediate reports of damage from any of the earthquakes.
