Tyler Badie injury: NFL insider shares new update on Broncos RB's status after collapse

One of the scariest moments in Sunday's Week 4 NFL schedule involved the Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie.

During the Broncos' clash with the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium, Badie was seen collapsing on the sideline after receiving a blow to the lower back from the Jets' linebacker Quincy Williams. He left the field under his own power before collapsing on the sideline.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton had no update on Badie after the game, leaving football fans across the country eagerly awaiting an update. However, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport provided one on Monday, and it was overall positive.

Although an injury is never good news, it feels like a serious bullet has been dodged considering the worst fears following Badie's collapse. Badie had just one carry before leaving Sunday's game, but Denver was able to pull off a major upset in his place.

Over and beyond, Javonte Williams said running backs coach Lou Ayeni told the group that Badie “would be fine, but we know Tyler is a fighter, I just saw him on the ground and went over to see how he was doing.”

Before Sunday's game, Badie recorded 86 yards and 10 carries in two games. He has been with the team since the end of the 2022 season after being selected in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens.

Before the 2024 season, Badie spent most of his time on the practice squad. He played in one game during the 2022 season and caught one touchdown pass Russell Wilson.

With the knowledge that Tyler Badie will likely recover quickly, the Denver Broncos can celebrate their lead to 2-2, which was completely unexpected since they defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the aforementioned Jets in two consecutive weeks. Next up is the all-important return to Denver to take on the Las Vegas Raiders.
