Shohei Ohtani is among the Dodgers named to the 2024 All-MLB Team

The 2024 All-MLB Team nominations have been announced, including Shohei Ohtani among the seven Los Angeles Dodgers finalists for the honor.

Ohtani is also joined by Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, Teoscar Hernández, Will Smith, Jack Flaherty and Alex Vesia on the list of 115 players to be nominated.

Selections to the 2024 All-MLB Team, established in 2019, will be announced on November 14 during The Chelsea's “All-MLB Team Show” at The Cosmopolitan during the second annual All-MLB Weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada. announced.

Other MLB awards to be unveiled in Las Vegas during the live All-MLB show include Hank Aaron winners, Comeback Players of the Year, Mariano Rivera and Trevor Hoffman Relievers of the Year, and Edgar Martinez , who was named outstanding batsman of the year.

Fans voting during the game and a distinguished panel of media members, broadcasters, former players and other officials will have an equal say in selecting the first and second teams that will make up the 2024 All-MLB Team. All fans who vote for the 2024 All-MLB Team can enter for a chance to win a trip to All-MLB Weekend to watch the winners be announced live.

Fans and panelists vote on their selections: catcher, first base, second base, third base, shortstop, three outfielders (regardless of left/center/right) and designated hitter, along with five starting pitchers and two relief pitchers on both bases first and second teams.

All decisions are based on the 2024 regular season, without regard to American League or National League affiliation.

From now until Friday, October 11 at 9:00 a.m. PT, fans can vote for their 2024 All-MLB selections every day at mlb.com/allmlb.

Additionally, the ballot will be available in Spanish at lasmayores.com/todomlb.

Shohei Ohtani

Ohtani finished the season with a .310 batting average and 1.040 on-base plus slugging, while becoming the first player in MLB history to join the 50-50 club with 54 home runs and 58 stolen bases.

He also managed 38 doubles, scored 130 runs and scored 134 points.

Ohtani is vying for a fourth straight All-MLB selection.

The two-way star has been selected by both teams as both a designated hitter and starting pitcher each of the past three seasons after earning first-team honors as a designated hitter and second-team honors as a starting pitcher in 2021; First-team honors as a starting pitcher and second-team honors as a designated hitter in 2022; and first team honors in both categories in 2023.

Freddie Freeman

Freeman is the only player to be honored as a first- or second-team selection in each of the last five seasons.

He finished the year with a .282 batting average and an .854 OPS while hitting 35 doubles and 22 home runs, driving in 89 runs and scoring 81 runs, as well as nine stolen bases.

Mookie Betts

Betts is a four-time All-MLB team selection seeking a fifth-team honor. Despite missing part of the season due to injury, the infielder/outfielder had another fantastic season.

Listed as an outfielder for voting purposes, Betts hit .290 with an OPS of .867, 24 doubles and 19 home runs while driving in 75 runs, scoring 75 runs himself and stealing 16 bags.

Teoscar Hernandez

Hernández, who leads all NationaL League outfielders in home runs, is a finalist after setting a new career high with 33 long balls.

Additionally, he hit .270 with an OPS of .839 while scoring a career-best 99 runs among outfielders in the Netherlands, scoring 84 runs, hitting 32 doubles and stealing 12 bases.

Will Smith

Smith started the year red-hot before fading in the second half of the season, but it was still good enough to earn him nominee honors.

The backstop hit .248 with an OPS of .760 while doubling 24 times, hitting 20 home runs, recording 75 RBI and scoring 77 runs. He added a stolen base for good measure.

Jack Flaherty

Acquired from the Detroit Tigers at the trade deadline, Flaherty had a fantastic season overall, throwing 162 innings with a 3.17 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and 194 strikeouts.

He also finished the year with a 13-7 mark between the two clubs.

Alex Vesia

Vesia had an incredible season as one of the most underrated Dodgers, but he gained the trust of manager Dave Roberts and became a top, high-leverage arm for the club.

He finished the year with a 1.79 ERA, a 0.98 WHIP, and struck out 12.31 hitters per nine while throwing 65.1 innings. He also made five saves this season.
