Jaydon Blue was responsible for a total of four touchdowns and the Longhorns improved their record to 4-0 this season.



AUSTIN, Texas – No. 1/2 Texas football earned a 51-3 victory over ULM thanks to five rushing touchdowns in front of the fifth-largest crowd in the history of Darrell K. Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium with 102,850 spectators on Saturday night.

The Longhorns' running attack was effective all night, scoring five touchdowns and rushing for 239 yards, their best performance of the season. Jaydon Blue had a career day with 25 carries for 124 yards and four total touchdowns (three carries).

Arch Manningwho started for the first time in his career, completed 15 of 29 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns. Isaiah Bond was the leading receiver with two catches for 75 yards, including a 56-yard pass.

The Texas defense allowed just three points and just 111 total yards, the fewest the Longhorns have allowed this season. Anthony Hill had a great day with a sack and his first career interception, the Longhorns' sixth interception of the season.

After throwing an interception on the game's opening drive, the Longhorns struck back with a touchdown drive on their second possession. The first big play of the game came when Manning connected with Bond for a 56-yard pass to put Texas in the redzone. The Longhorns then passed the ball to Blue on the next four consecutive plays, who took it into the end zone.

Hill quickly gave the Longhorns another scoring opportunity with an interception that he returned deep in ULM territory. Blue found the end zone again when he received a three-yard touchdown pass from Manning.

The Longhorns continued to score points on their fourth drive of the first quarter, with Manning scoring Ryan Wingo with a 17-yard touchdown pass increased the lead to 21-0.

Blue's career day continued in the second quarter, as he capped a 12-play, 87-yard drive with a two-yard touchdown run.

The Warhawks scored their only points of the game on a 35-yard field goal with 1:46 left in the first half. ULM wanted to score more points at the end of the half, but Alfred Collins blocked a field goal attempt as the first half expired.

At the start of the second half, Texas kept the scoring going with a six-play, 66-yard run that ended with a Jerrick Gibson Two-yard touchdown run.

The Longhorns defense contributed to the scoring with a safety in the third quarter, when Liona Lefau recorded a tackle for loss in the end zone. The safety was Texas' first since September 18, 2021 against Rice.

Texas crowned the scoring with two rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter by Blue and Ryan Niblett.
