One dead in shooting following argument near youth football game in southeast Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – One person is dead after a shooting in southeast Colorado Springs.

Police told 11 News they will send their homicide squad to the area near Atlas Middle School, where several 11 News viewers said a youth soccer game was taking place.

They confirmed that one person died after an argument that escalated in the school parking lot and led to a shooting. They later confirmed that the person who died was a 29-year-old man.

At the time of writing, police said they were working to locate a suspect, but since this all appeared to stem from an argument, they said they did not believe there was any danger to the public.
