Colorado Springs, Colo. – Junior quarterback Blake Horvath The junior sharpshooter rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns while throwing for 134 yards Eli Heidenreich rushed for 100 yards on six carries and caught five passes for 101 yards as Navy (5-0) dominated Air Force (1-4) from start to finish to a 34-7 victory in front of a sellout crowd of 39,441 fans at the Falcon scored stadium in Colorado Springs.

The seven points allowed by the Navy defense were the fewest allowed by the Navy in Colorado Springs, while the 34 points scored were the second most.

Navy took control on the game's second possession as the Mids moved 87 yards in 10 plays, capped by a one-yard touchdown Blake Horvath. The Mids had four plays of 10 yards or more on the drive, the biggest of which was a beautiful throw and catch by Horvath Brandon Chatman that put the ball at the 1. Horvath would score two plays later.

The Navy defense brought the ball right back to the offense on the next possession as the senior corner Dashaun Peele intercepted Air Force quarterback JohnBusha and returned it 21 yards to the Air Force 41.

Against the fourth and third place Air Force 34, the Navy chose it and so on Blake Horvath ran to the left, the entire Luftwaffe defense followed him. The problem was that Horvath was throwing the ball Nathan Kent Going the other way, no one was around as Kent marched 34 yards to the end zone, giving Navy a 14-0 lead.

Air Force cut Navy's lead to seven at 14-7 when backup quarterback Tre Roberson came off the bench and led a scoring drive capped by a 45-yard touchdown pass to Quentin Hayes.

The Mids came right back, however, as Horvath led an eight-play, 79-yard scoring drive that lasted 4:17 after halftime and capped it off with a two-yard touchdown run. The play of the drive was a 25-yard pass from Horvath to Heidenreich all the way to the Air Force Four when Heidenreich completed an incredible catch-and-toe tap.

Early in the second half, Air Force got the ball, but Navy's defense immediately forced a punt, and then the offense stole the Falcons' heart with a 14-play, 76-yard drive with 6:20 left. Alex Tecza ended the drive with a 7-yard touchdown run to make the score 27-7.

Tecza would put the final nail in Air Force's coffin with a 12-yard touchdown run, giving Navy the 34-7 victory.

Navy amassed 463 total yards of offense while holding the Falcons to 273 yards. Navy had 329 rushing yards and 134 passing yards.

It was the first time since 2003 that Navy had two 100-yard rushers and a 100-yard receiver, and Heidenreich is considered the first player in school history to rush for 100 yards and receive for 100 yards in the same game.

Senior linebacker KyleJacob As a junior forward, he led the Navy defense with 10 tackles Jaxson Campbell added seven stops and two sacks. Senior defensive end Justin Reed There are also seven tackles.

Navy has a bye next week before hosting Charlotte at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on Oct. 19. A win over Charlotte would mean a bowl game for Navy for the first time since 2019.

The victory over the Air Force today gives the Navy a chance to win the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy on Dec. 14 when the Navy plays the Army in USAA's annual Army-Navy game in Landover, Maryland.
