The mother of Fernando Tatis Jr.'s daughter is demanding more child support

The mother of Fernando Tatis Jr.The San Diego Padres' 2-year-old daughter is dragging the MLB superstar to court to get him to pay more child support… but the San Diego Padres outfielder's attorney claims she's telling lies in the process.

Jennifer Rodríguez claimed this week in court documents obtained by TMZ Sportsthat she became pregnant with Tatis Jr.'s child in September 2021 – after a year-long, non-exclusive relationship.

She said in the documents that she had initially hoped the two would work together to co-parent their child… But after a paternity test confirmed Tatis Jr. was the father, the baseball player and those close to him began the to treat “upcoming birth like a business.”

While she said Tatis Jr. has since fulfilled that obligation, she claimed in the documents that he largely disappeared from her child's life after her daughter was born.

Rodriguez said that although she and he continued their romantic relationship until May 2023, Tatis Jr. only saw his daughter five times…for a total of four hours.

And to make matters worse, she said she recently reached out to him and his close circle to pay more child support when she learned that his annual salary would be $5,000,000 in 2022 would rise to a whopping $36,000,000 in 2029, it received pushback.

She is now asking a judge to increase Tatis Jr.'s child support payments.

“I understood how little (our daughter) receives compared to the benefits Fernando receives for being a visible MLB star and a local celebrity in San Diego,” she said. “I also realized how much it will cost to support a child on Fernando’s ward.”

In the documents, she claimed that 25-year-old Tatis Jr. lived in a large house, drove fancy cars and “that doors are open to him in all aspects of his life in San Diego, if not across the country.”

“Our daughter has the right to participate in this lifestyle,” she said.

In addition, Rodriguez is asking Tatis Jr. to pay legal fees, which she says are around $250,000.

A court hearing on the matter is scheduled for December.

As for Tatis Jr., his attorney, Michael Strausstold us in a statement on Friday: “Ms. Rodriguez's decision to spread a false narrative about Fernando and the Tatís family is nothing new.”
