Cal has defeated Cam Ward before and plans to be different this time

Miami Hurricane quarterback Cam Ward struggled against the California Golden Bears in his final year at Washington State. It was one of his worst games of the season, with three turnovers that ultimately led to the team's loss and another loss on Ward's resume.

Coming into this season, Ward was fantastic and arguably the best quarterback in the country. But in his final game against Virginia Tech, the old Ward resurfaced, causing key turnovers that led to points on the board.

Ward knows he has to clean up his mistakes because the Golden Bears got the best out of him last season. They forced two fumbles and a game-winning interception against the Cougars, leading them to victory. The Golden Bears lead the league in interceptions (10) heading into this game and will be ready to get the most out of the Heisman hopeful.

“They’re a good, solid defense. They are what the stats say they are, but at the end of the day we just have to execute plays,” Ward said.

At the end of the day, Ward knows he has to get better and do his best. Ward is primarily a passer and will do his best to be the quarterback of the playmakers around him.

“At the end of the day, you have to live by the sword and die by the sword,” Ward said. “That’s my attitude every game. I'm a passer, that's what I'm good at, and I'll continue to distribute the ball to my playmakers at receiver. We just need to limit the bad and keep executing our base games”.
