Alabama remains in the top three despite the loss at Vanderbilt

The ESPN FPI rankings have been updated after a stunning sixth week of college football. No. 1 Alabama, No. 4 Tennessee, No. 9 Mizzou, No. 10 Michigan and No. 11 USC all suffered losses on Saturday, and No. 8 Miami needed a wild comeback to avoid a surprising loss at Cal.

Despite Alabama's loss to unranked Vanderbilt, the Crimson Tide only fell from No. 2 to No. 3 in the ESPN Football Power Index (FPI) rankings.

As you can see below, Alabama is still in third place, with Texas at No. 1, Ohio State at No. 2, Georgia at No. 4 and Ole Miss at No. 5 rounding out the top five.

Here's a look at the full Top 25 FPI rankings, which include an impressive 11 schools from the SEC:

It seems like it would be difficult for the top teams to move too much in the FPI rankings. Tennessee also only fell one spot despite the loss at Arkansas.

The Hogs, on the other hand, jumped three spots after beating the Vols.

There are some incredible games scheduled over the next two weekends. We'll see what happens with the FPI rankings in the next few Sundays.
