Mike Tomlin drops a hilarious line in the SNF vs. Cowboys halftime interview

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin thought his offense got in his way in the first half of Sunday night's game against the Cowboys. With Pittsburgh trailing 6-3 at halftime, Tomlin had a humorous way of putting it while speaking to NBC Melissa Stark.

“We have to stop kicking ourselves,” the coach said. “No disrespect to the Cowboys, but one of those drives was interrupted by two pre-snap penalties. We had a mistake on another series that killed us in field position. If we stop kicking ourselves, we can focus on theirs.”

In addition to the penalties, Pittsburgh struggled to get the ball moving through the air. Justin Fields finished the first half completing just 4 of 9 passes for 35 yards and was sacked three times.

The only bright spot was the Steelers' defense, which forced two turnovers and held Dallas without a touchdown. This also included the 100th career sack for the defensive lineman TJ Watts when he forced a fumble Dak Prescott.

“None of us are surprised by what we’re seeing from him, but that doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate it,” Mike Tomlin said of the milestone for Watt. “It’s not a lightning strike. It's deserved. He does it every day with his approach to business and we are grateful to be a part of what he does.”

It wouldn't take long for the Steelers' offense to get going in the second half. They scored a touchdown on their first drive as Fields led them 72 yards downfield before scoring the ball Connor Heyward for a 16-yard score.

This gave Pittsburgh their first lead of the game as they took a 10-6 lead. It stays here until the fourth quarter begins, and the Steelers hope to hang on and improve to 4-1.
