Watt is Digest Player of the Week

TJ WATT
Outside linebacker

The Steelers lost their second straight game of this 2024 regular season, this one 20:17 against the Dallas Cowboys on a touchdown pass from Dak Prescott with 15 seconds left. But despite an ending that spoiled the evening for most of the 67,380 spectators at Acrisure Stadium, it was a historic night for TJ Watt, who was also the team's best player.

Watt finished the game with 8 tackles, including 1 for loss, 1.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble. The sacks gave Watt 101 for his career and he became the second fastest player since 1982 to reach 100 career sacks, doing so in 109 career games – behind Reggie White, who did it in 96 games. Watt also ranks third in NFL history with 101 sacks before his 30th birthday. The players ahead of him on this list are White at 108 and Jared Allen at 105. Watt turns 30 on October 11th.

TJ Watt is the one Steelers Digest Player of the week.

Also considered were CB Joey Porter Jr., who had 4 tackles and 1 interception; QB Justin Fields, who completed 15 of 27 (55.6 percent) for 131 yards, with 2 touchdowns, no interceptions and a 93.3 rating, while also passing for 27 yards on 6 carries (4.5 average); and Donte Jackson, who finished the game with 4 tackles and 1 interception.
