Cowboys defenseman roasts Pittsburgh Steelers' George Pickens after loss

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost their second straight game in heartbreaking fashion, giving up a last-minute touchdown to the Dallas Cowboys and suffering a loss. After a 3-0 start, the Steelers are now 3-2 after Week 5 of the NFL season.

This Steelers loss was marked by the noticeable absence of top wide receiver George Pickens. He was rendered ineffective by the Cowboys' secondary, making just three catches for a disappointing 26 yards. What was supposed to be a breakout season for Pickens turned into a frustrating slide, and Cowboys defenseman Jourdan Lewis added insult to injury after the game.

Pickens and Lewis battled throughout the game, with the DB often eclipsing the Steelers' first option. After the game, a video clip surfaced in which Lewis gave his unfiltered thoughts about Pickens and the Steelers' passing offense. He was less than friendly in his comments, stating that “Pittsburgh needs a receiver” because Pickens is “weak.” Cowboys reporter Bobby Belt shared a video of Lewis as he walked back to the locker room.

Through five games, Pickens is in a disappointing performance despite being the team's leading receiver statistically. He only has 20 balls on 29 targets and 284 yards. He has only had one game with more than 100 yards through the air this season and has failed to find the end zone. While the Steelers view Pickens as their best offensive playmaker, Jourdan Lewis and the Cowboys seemed unfazed.

Pickens isn't the only Steelers wide receiver struggling to make an impact. The Steelers have scored four passing touchdowns so far this season, and only one of those went to a receiver. The others were at tight ends or stayed on the ground.

The Steelers are having trouble establishing a passing identity again this season, and their number one receiver is struggling because of it. At 3-2 and losing early dominance over the division, the team's passing game and its top receiver appear to be weaker than ever.
