Gillian Anderson's favorite beauty buy is ideal for fall

Gillian Anderson has enviable skin and a good approach to caring for it. The actress is a fan of clean eating, meditation and a little yoga when she has time. The award-winning actress has been on our screens since the '90s, when she found fame alongside David Duchovny in The X-Files.

At 56, we've seen her in everything from Hannibal to The Fall and Sex Education, so she's one busy woman.

And we wondered how she manages to keep her skin looking so fresh despite such a hectic lifestyle. It turns out she has a favorite cosmetic purchase that would certainly help, and it's a very popular product.

As you can imagine, Gillian Anderson is a big name in film and television, she probably gets sent all sorts of beauty products.

And apparently she is, but despite all the expensive purchases she gets, she prefers one moisturizer over all others. It's a moisturizing purchase from Clinique that Gillian says is better than “all the fancy creams.”

We're assuming she's talking about the really high-end buys, La Prairie, La Mer and so on. As it turns out, the moisturizer she's referring to is a sensible purchase, but so hydrating it's like a drink of water for the skin. If your skin is tired, stressed or just dried out, the problem will be solved immediately.

The moisturizer Gillian Anderson uses is Clinique's Moisture Surge 100hr Auto-Replenishing Hydrator (€51), a gel cream that floods the skin with moisture. From its cool texture to its quick absorption, the gel-cream is neither greasy nor sticky – for dry skin that simply soaks it up.

The actress previously told a beauty magazine that it's “a really special thing to put on in the afternoon when you feel like you're drying out and need some moisture.”

Having used it over the last year when temperatures were high and we needed some light hydration, we have to agree with Gillian. Now that winter is upon us, this serves as a final mask for overnight hydration. It's one of those multitaskers, a very good buy.
