Vanderbilt football fans can own a tangible piece of Nashville sports history after the team pulled off an unexpected win over No. 1 Alabama on Saturday night.

Specifically, it was an 8-inch-long banana-yellow metal bar that was part of the Vanderbilt Commodores' football field until Saturday evening – for $4,035.

Vanderbilt fans stormed the field at FirstBank Stadium after the historic home win. They tore the South End Zone goal post out of the ground and took it to the streets of Nashville.

Southeastern Conference officials have ordered Vanderbilt Athletics to pay Alabama $100,000 to storm the field — an SEC violation since 2023.

Now the university is offering parts of its yellow metal goal post at a reasonable price.

The online auction can be accessed in the LiveSource app or online at desktop.livesourceapp.com. Additionally, memorabilia for sale includes a personalized game helmet for $7,090, game pylons for $800, a personalized football for $2,525 and more.

The auction lasts until October 10th, 5 p.m.

After the game, the Nashville Fire Department recovered the goal post from the Cumberland River – the victorious students had marched nearly three miles down Broadway to ceremonially toss it in. Video clips and images posted online show fans celebrating the moment. It took at least an hour to move the goal post from the stadium to Riverfront Park in downtown Nashville.

Vanderbilt Athletics did not immediately respond to a request for comment for this story.
