Fantasy Football Week 6: Waiver of transfers

Each week we highlight the top fantasy football waiver prospects that remain available in at least 50% of Yahoo Fantasy leagues. If you have roster needs heading into Week 6, the following names deserve attention.

Quarterbacks

Daniel Jones, New York Giants (9%)

It's time, friends. Once every season, it's worth adding Jones to your fantasy roster, just to remind yourself of the full range of possibilities in the human experience – joy, despair, exhilaration, etc.

Jones faces Cincinnati's user-friendly defense next week and should have Malik Nabers available again after the rookie missed Week 4. Even without the superstar receiver, Jones was able to score multiple points against Seattle on Sunday and added his usual dash of rushing production.

We won't go so far as to say you can start Jones with confidence against the Bengals. But you can at least start it reluctantly and hope for a non-disastrous outcome.

Additional QB options:

• Justin Herbert returns from his retirement for a brutal matchup with Denver, but those of you planning further ahead will want to know that he gets Arizona on Monday night in Week 7.

• Derek Carr faces a home game against Tampa Bay, the team that torched Kirk Cousins ​​for more than 500 yards last Thursday.

• Kevin Stefanski doesn't sound like a coach getting ready to start his obviously hopeless quarterbackbut it has to happen at some point. Jameis Winston should probably already be used in Superflex leagues.

• Drake MayeIt's time Reports say it's coming soonand the upcoming meetings with Houston and Jacksonville are particularly friendly.

Running backs

Tank Bigsby, Jacksonville Jaguars (23%)

Bigsby looks suspiciously similar to the pictured back from Jacksonville:

He managed 100 rushing yards on just 13 carries against the Colts and did much of his damage running up and down the field:

Bigsby's 65-yard score basically filled the entire running back bingo card: vision, patience, vicious stiff arm, breakaway speed, premature celebration. An absolutely dirty piece.

For the first time, Bigsby was actually faster than Travis Etienne (while also overtaking and overtaking him, of course). Etienne still managed 60 scrimmage yards on a dozen touches, six of which were receptions, so it's not like he was useless. Bigsby is just doing too well to remain in a minor role.

Tyrone Tracy Jr., New York Giants (23%)

We can't reasonably expect Tracy to overtake Devin Singletary in the Giants' backfield hierarchy, but he may just have earned a bigger role in the future. Tracy was outstanding against the Seahawks, catching 18 throws for 129 yards. He's a former college receiver, so he's a player with a wide range of skills. The rookie left a trail of potential tacklers on Sunday afternoon:

Singletary is currently dealing with a groin injury, so he won't be fully operational in Week 6, if he plays at all. Regardless of his status, Tracy deserves additional opportunities.

Roschon Johnson, Chicago Bears (20%)

Just to be clear: D'Andre Swift did it emphatically has reestablished control of Chicago's backfield over the past two weeks. However, Johnson has developed into an important support. He has made home calls in back-to-back games, including two on Sunday, and served as his team's undisputed No. 2 rushing option. At 225 pounds, Johnson has the traditional style and dimensions of a short-range bulldozer. It is definitely approved for flexible use to help you navigate the open spaces.

Various other RBs add:

• Braelon Allen Things have been quiet in back-to-back games, but he continues to play about a third of the backfield snaps for the Jets. It seems clear that the rookie will play an important role if things go according to plan for New York.

• Antonio Gibson received a celebratory start on Sunday but continued to run behind Rhamondre Stevenson in the Patriots' offense. The veteran still managed to rack up 56 scrimmage yards on seven touches and continued to serve as an efficient backup player (in a terrible offense).

• Justice Hill It was quiet in Sunday's OT shootout, but he's just a week away from totaling 96 yards and a score against Buffalo. He's headed to two fantasy-friendly matchups (War, at TB), so he should remain a viable flex option.

• If you're looking for a supportive defender in an offense that isn't fun, Jaleel McLaughlin is your type. On Sunday, he returned to the end zone for Denver and managed nine touches.

• Jeremy McNichols remains No. 3 in Washington behind two excellent players, so we shouldn't get too excited about his recent scoring streak. However, his team piles up points and yards, so he makes sense as a hiding spot in the minor leagues.

• Ty Chandler and the Vikings are facing a bye, so they can't help us in Week 6. However, it is worth noting that Aaron Jones suffered a hip injury in the London game, resulting in a huge workload for Chandler.

Wide receivers and tight ends

Darnell Mooney, Atlanta Falcons (48%)

After five games, Mooney is essentially having the season you probably hoped Kyle Pitts would have. He simply exhausted the Bucs on Thursday night, catching nine balls for 105 yards and two spikes on 16 targets. This handle was particularly absurd:

Mooney has scored as high as 40 this season and has had more than 50 receiving yards in four straight weeks. While he may not be the team's clear No. 1 receiver, he's no worse than 1A. It's great that Mooney is still eligible for the Weekly Pickup feature, but here we are. Go get him. Atlanta travels to Carolina this week.

Fabulous: $26

Jalen Tolbert, Dallas Cowboys (7%)

Tolbert delivered the best performance of his career in prime time in Week 5, capping his 7-catch night with a game-winning touchdown:

He produced at least one Wow He has scored second every week this season and has hit 20 of his 29 goals this year. Tolbert has been on the field for at least 67% of snaps in every game (89% on Sunday night), and he's obviously in Dak Prescott's circle of trust. His outburst seems legitimate. His passing rate this season is 111.7, so trying his way is generally a good idea.

With Brandin Cooks (knee) on IR and unavailable until November, target volume shouldn't be an issue for Tolbert in the near future.

Fabulous: $16

Josh Downs, Indianapolis Colts (40%)

Downs has played from the slot with Joe Flacco at the helm of Indy's offense over the past two weeks, catching 17 passes for 151 yards and a score on 21 scores. He is a technician who reveals quickly and keeps the chains moving. Whether or not he can continue to thrive once Anthony Richardson returns is an open question, but he's the type of easy-button receiver AR desperately needs.

If Flacco does indeed remain at center for the Colts in the upcoming matchup at Tennessee, Downs will be pretty close to a mandatory start in full-PPR.

Fabulous: $9

Keon Coleman, Buffalo Bills (45%)

It wasn't a completely clean game for Coleman against the Texans, but the rookie made the most of his only catch:

Buffalo has a plethora of short-yardage slot receivers, but they desperately need a player who can consistently win (and take advantage of his opportunities) downfield and outside the numbers. Unless this team addresses this deficiency via trade, Coleman will be desperately needed to accelerate the development timeline. He will certainly have no shortage of goals in the coming weeks.

Fabulous: $6

Additional WRs and TEs to consider:

• Alec Pierce has given us a wild ride this year, scoring three times on his 13 catches while averaging a ridiculous 28.3 yards per reception. He remains a low-volume, high-variance fantasy product, but at least he's tied to quarterbacks who can take advantage of his field-flipping abilities.

• Since Malik Nabers is unavailable, Darius Slayton had a monster day against the Seahawks (8-122-1). He's unlikely to hit double-digit targets when Nabers returns, but he's clearly a preferred option for Daniel Jones given his ability to make big plays.

• Quentin Johnston is back from LA's farewell and ready to continue his TD-or-bust fantasy season. He certainly has highlight-reel potential, but is also capable of being ruled out on any given week.

• De Mario Douglas isn't exactly associated with the most dynamic offense in the league, but the volume has flowed his way. He has scored nine goals in two of his last three games.

• Allen Lazard If Davante Adams finds his way to New York, he might well be doomed in fantasy, but it's still worth noting that he has secured four touchdowns in five games. Lazard has also seen 18 targets in the last two weeks, so volume hasn't been an issue.

• Tyler Conklin has seen at least six targets in each of the Jets' last three games, catching 15 balls for 165 yards. So far he has been a useful short-range answer for Aaron Rodgers.

defense

Philadelphia Eagles (34%)

Philly is coming off a bye and is preparing to face the Browns and Giants in consecutive weeks, so… well, this bounce shouldn't need much additional justification. Stream and enjoy.

Fabulous: $2

Los Angeles Chargers (12%)

LA has a deservedly sprightly D that has produced seven takeaways and 11 sacks in four games. This group returns from their bye to face the disappointing offense of Bo Nix and Denver, an obviously favorable spot. The Chargers can help for at least a week.

Fabulous: $1
