Less than a year and a half after its release in June 2023, the wildly popular online role-playing game “Diablo IV” is receiving a new expansion pack that introduces new characters, locations and narratives to the lore of Sanctuary.

With a starting price of $39.99, Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred will be available to download on Tuesday, October 8th for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, as well as PC.

Because Vessel of Hatred is an add-on, you must own a copy of Diablo IV to download it. However, if you have access to the game through Xbox Game Pass, you will still need to purchase the DLC (downloadable content) if you want to play.

Unlike the main campaign in Diablo IV, Vessel of Hatred is set in a jungle location called Nahantu.

“The whole thing is that it expands the world. “So when you look at Diablo IV, it takes place in what’s called the Eastern Continent,” explains Rod Fergusson, video game producer and general manager at Activision Blizzard diversity. “And down here there’s a part called Nahantu, which is a jungle and it’s really interesting to go to another place. “Diablo IV” is known for having a gothic and medieval feel, but Nahantu has that jungle atmosphere, which is a real eye-catcher from my setting perspective. And so it’s really fun and fresh to start with a different setting and a new way to play.”

As for the DLC itself, “Vessel of Hatred” introduces new enemies, including monstrous insects and corrupt humanoids, in a jungle environment, while offering a new endgame dungeon for online co-op play. There is also a new character class called “Spiritborn,” which can draw strength from ancient jungle warriors in battle.

The Standard Edition for $39.99 includes the base expansion, while the Deluxe Edition for $59.99 includes the base expansion plus additional armor, skins, pets, and more. And priced at $89.99, the Ultimate Edition offers all of those things, plus additional tokens, in-game currency, and other fun extras.
