Taysom Hill and Willie Gay are among the players out for Week 5

Both the Kansas City Chiefs and New Orleans Saints are missing many key players for their scheduled Week 5 primetime showdown. No matter, keep going Monday Night Footballteams must continue to play with a “next man up” mentality if they want to leave Arrowhead with a win.

The Chiefs' injury list is longer-term than the visiting team's. The Chiefs have a number of key players on injured reserve, particularly on the offensive side – a list that includes their top two wide receivers (Hollywood Brown, Rashee Rice) as well as their top running back (Isiah Pacheco).

The Saints are also missing key players on injured reserve such as center Erik McCoy and tackle Ryan Ramczyk. However, Dennis Allen's team will also be without several players in the short term in Week 5, including guard Cesar Ruiz, lineman Shane Lemieux, Swiss Army knife Taysom Hill and linebacker Willie Gay Jr. The Saints are also back on defense, with Peyton Turner coming in Play the weekend.

Both teams receive good news in Week 5 with the return of a key defender. For the Chiefs, it's a chance to welcome Mike Danna back to his defensive end spot after a week-long layoff due to a calf injury. The Saints have Demario Davis back at linebacker after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 4. Unfortunately for New Orleans, fellow starter Pete Werner is also out with a hamstring injury, leaving the linebacker situation questionable.

The Chiefs and Saints will kick off in primetime on Monday, October 7 at 7:15 p.m. CT.
