Is it Russell Wilson time in Pittsburgh?

At some point, when a decision is imminent, the answer will reveal itself naturally before it has to be officially made. For the Steelers, the decision whether to move back to QB1 may have done just that.

Russell Wilson is getting healthier. The starting job was never given to Justin Fields. It wouldn't be a bench press.

And it might be time for unbanking to go to the bank.

The Steelers have lost two in a row. Fields wasn't particularly sharp on Sunday night against the Cowboys, where Dallas handily outscored Pittsburgh but narrowly won. With a game against the Raiders coming up next, it might be time to let Wilson brush off the rust before two prime-time games against the New York/New Jersey teams.

Coach Mike Tomlin meets with reporters every Tuesday. The quarterback situation will be the first topic for questions, unless Tomlin addresses the topic in his opening remarks (as he might).

Regardless, the door is now open for Wilson to play. He's still the starter. With the offense needing a spark, now might be the time to use it.

Whether it makes a difference remains to be seen. The running game is a far cry from the beastmode attack Wilson enjoyed in Seattle. As the chains move on the floor, Wilson's ability to fake a handoff and cast a rainbow across the field is unlocked.

Whatever the case, 3-0 has become 3-2 and Fields has fallen behind a bit. If Wilson is ready to go, maybe it's time to give him a try.
