Faridabad election results 2024: BJP's Vipul Goel leads by over 18,000 votes; Congress sweats in NIT – India News

Faridabad Assembly Election 2024 Result: As vote counting progresses in Faridabad district, early trends show that BJP's Vipul Goel is leading by a margin of 13,188 votes over Congress's Lakhan Kumar Singla in Faridabad constituency after six rounds of counting. The counting of votes began with the counting of postal ballots and the main contest in this city region is between the BJP and the Congress.

At 10 am, BJP's Rajesh Nagar was leading the Tigaon seat by 4,825 votes, while Faridabad was a tight race with Vipul Goel leading by nearly 5,000 votes. Over in Badkhal, BJP's Dhanesh Adlakha had secured a lead of 4,683 votes while Congress candidates Raghuveer Teotia and Neeraj Sharma were ahead in Prithla and NIT constituencies.

In Badkhal Assembly, Dhanesh Adlakha secured 5,371 votes in the first round while Congress secured 2,868 votes. Meanwhile, Congress MP Lakhan Singla gained momentum in Faridabad.

In Prithla, Tekchand Sharma of the BJP was ahead with 1,838 votes while Raghuveer Teotia of the Congress was close behind. Over in the NIT Assembly, Neeraj Sharma of the Congress led the field while Satish of the BJP trailed after the first round with 3,052 votes as compared to Neeraj Sharma's 4,154 votes.

In the last election, the BJP won four out of six seats, with the Congress securing the NIT seat and an independent candidate, Nayyanpal Rawat, winning Prithla. This time, BJP's Moolchand Sharma, who held the Ballabhgarh seat for two terms, faced a challenge from Congress MP Parag Sharma. Meanwhile, the BJP replaced Seema Trikha with Dhanesh Adlakha for Badkhal while the Congress fielded new faces in four out of six constituencies.

AAP also fielded candidates like Abhas Chandela in Tigaon, which impacted the votes of both the BJP and the Congress. Faridabad district, with 1,794,552 voters in six seats in Parliament, determined the fate of 64 candidates. Voting took place on October 5th and results were expected at 1pm that day.
