Save a rare on a new Sony PS5 Slim with this Amazon Prime Day deal

Sony's new, slimmer version of the PlayStation 5 came out in November last year and while it doesn't do anything different, it definitely takes up a little less space. And if you're looking for a new PS5 anyway, you should get this model. The console has seen a price increase with this update, and that means it's worth looking for a deal when it comes time to spend money. Coincidentally, Amazon's Prime Day sales can currently save you $50 on disc-based and digital-only consoles. The purely digital model is currently available up to $400now with the version with disc drive down to $449. However, stocks have been volatile so far and the digital-only version is currently showing as sold out (look for “Buy Used” next to the price and avoid this). However, that can change at any time. So take another look to see if it is the model you want.

These offers are worth taking advantage of if you want access to next-gen games like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Demon's Souls and many more. Please note that these prices are only available to Prime members.

“I'm extremely impressed with the entire PS5 package,” CNET's Dan Ackerman wrote in his review of the original 2020 model. “The design is daring. The new controller is a huge step forward in both ergonomics and features, and the addition of the new integrated controller microphone (and the new HD webcam, sold separately) will undoubtedly send many new streamers to Twitch and other platforms to show off.”

Aside from the slimmer design, the only noticeable difference under the hood is that the new model has 1TB of storage instead of 825GB. The floppy drive can also be removed. If you're a basketball fan, the price of a PS5 Digital Edition bundle with NBA 2K25 has also dropped from $500 up to $450. A good excuse to treat yourself since we're not sure the holiday sales will top this.
