Snapshots of Tropicana Las Vegas over 67 years

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – On April 4, 1957, the $15 million was donated Tropicana Las Vegas open.

The opening helped Bally's shape the essence of the Las Vegas Strip.

The song and dance show Folies Bergère took place in 1959. The world-famous event lasted about 50 years.

In 1962, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority captured golfers and golf carts the Chic Tropicana Country Club.

The Tropicana attracted legendary stars like Eddie Fisher, Eddie Cantor and Sammy Davis Jr.

From 1976 onwards, things around the casino began to get more crowded. The Tiffany Tower, renamed Paradise Towerwas added in 1979.

It brought an additional 600 rooms.

In May 2023, Bally's announced a partnership that changed everything.

It reached one Agreement with the Oakland A's to build a new baseball stadium on the Tropicana site, expected to be completed in 2028.

On April 2nd of this year, the casino's doors were finally closed. Many employees were there to say goodbye.

Wednesday, that The Club and Paradise towers still stand.
