Kamala Harris tells Howard Stern that Donald Trump doesn't have the strength to do a 60 Minutes fact check

Kamala Harris told Howard Stern she doesn't think Donald Trump is strong enough to withstand a fact-checked “60 Minutes” interview.

While speaking on “The Howard Stern Show,” the host brought up the fact that Trump canceled his “60 Minutes” interview at the last minute, citing a variety of reasons for it – most notably, fact-checking.

“I mean, it just says so much,” he said. “He didn’t want to be checked. This is maddening. This is madness. What do you mean you don’t want to be fact-checked?”

Harris had a clear answer as to why Trump didn't join her interview with “60 Minutes” – strength vs. weakness.

“I can be a lot more eloquent than I will say, but ultimately I believe this election is about strength and weakness,” she said. “And weakness as projected by someone who stands before the American people and does not have the strength to defend their needs, their dreams, their desires.”

She continued: “The work that must be done to ensure that we are a secure nation, that we maintain and protect our alliances around the world, that we support America's military, that we fight to lower the cost of living . “working families that we are building businesses and building growth.”

During the “60 Minutes” interview, Scott Pelley explained how Trump refused to discuss it and gave a variety of reasons why. He claimed that Leslie Stahl owed him an apology for an interview in 2020, claiming it was “unprecedented” that the interview was fact-checked.

“We fact-check every story,” Pelley said.

The Trump campaign has encountered numerous hurdles in fact-checking in recent weeks. Trump was criticized by ABC's David Muir during his debate with Harris for falsely claiming that immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, eat cats and dogs. Most recently, Trump's vice presidential candidate JD Vance complained about fact-checking during the vice presidential debate against Tim Walz.

“Margaret, the rules said you wouldn’t do fact checks,” Vance complained to debate moderator Margaret Brennan.

The “60 Minutes” interview was likely the last big moment the two presidential candidates had to present to voters before election night on November 5th.
