The Chiefs will be without a few players for Monday night's game in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to lose some players in Monday night's game against the New Orleans Saints.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid announced on Saturday, October 5, that it is doubtful whether running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire will play in the Monday Night Football game on October 7 at Arrowhead Stadium.

Edwards-Helaire was on the injured reserve list prior to Week 1 due to complications from the illness. According to Sports Illustrated, he struggled with post-traumatic stress disorder.

“Everyone was really there today. We rated Mecole as questionable, but he practiced the whole thing. “Clyde is listed as doubtful but he's had a good week of training, it's been good to get him back up to speed and I think that's questionable,” Reid said. “Mike Danna practiced today, so he did well.”

Wide receiver Mecole Hardman was listed as questionable for Monday's game. While he took part in a full practice session on Saturday, he continues to recover from a knee injury.

“I'm going to see general manager Brett Veach, but right now I think we're OK with who we have there at wide receiver,” Reid noted.

Defensive end Michael Danna participated in limited practice sessions while recovering from a calf injury until he played a full practice on Saturday. Linebacker Nick Bolton, running back Kareem Hunt and defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi were all recovering from their own injuries but are also expected to play against the Saints.

Meanwhile, Rashee Rice was placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury sustained in the Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Chargers. He is expected to miss at least the next four games.

The Chiefs are scheduled to face the Saints in Kansas City at 7:15 p.m. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Royals will also take the field in New York against the Yankees on Monday at 6:38 p.m.
