“There Is Room On My Door”: Michael Bublé using Titanic and other movie plots to get singers to do the voice work is my favorite thing this season

It's probably no surprise to anyone that Snoop Dogg added some flavor to the game TV program 2024 as the new coach The voice. He always seems to say the right thing to inspire and entertain everyone I hope we see the rapper again to future seasons. But I have to admit that Season 26's other rookie coach, Michael Bublé, was quite a surprise. I had no idea the crooner was so funny and I live for how he uses the plots of Titanic and other films to appeal to artists.

Gabrielle Zabosky turned all four chairs with her version of Kelly Clarkson's “Mr. Know It All,” and Bublé made a passionate argument for why she should join his team, saying:

When I was a kid I sang on a cruise ship, believe it or not, and I remember this one time I met this girl and I fell in love with her on that cruise ship and she used to pose me like that dare of her French boys. And there was an accident, you probably saw it on the news, but the cruise ship actually went down, it went down.

At this point, Gabrielle Zabosky realized what was going on and asked him if he was talking about it Titanic. Michael Bublé insisted he had never heard of it and continued amidst laughter The voice trainer and audience:

I wanted to say that I lost this girl forever. Listen to me guys, it's not funny. So dramatic! He really tried his best, but the singer decided to join Gwen Stefani's team. The “Home” singer had better luck with Jamison Puckett, who sang “Faithfully” by Journey. Reba McEntire and Michael Bublé both chose the artist, which left him quite upset as he said he didn't want to face the Queen of Country due to his traumatic past. Buble explained:

I'm not happy. I am deeply unhappy because Reba has also turned around. And I'm so tired of it. That's really me. When I was a kid – I don't know, 20, 21 – I moved to LA to get my big break. I was in this underground club where we used to fight. And we weren't actually allowed to talk about it. That was rule number 1. And now, after this life and struggles…

The voice Coaches have always been known for their antics, and Blake Shelton has also been known for being a little lecherous to get performers. However, the way Michael Bublé does it starts off so sincere that it always takes a second to realize what he's doing, and it (ironically) feels more authentic than some of the mentors' other actions. I believe this is actually a part of his personality and not something the show told him to do.

On the October 7 episode, he was so upset about not choosing the duo MisterMoon (who had joined Team Snoop) that he compared himself to a character from Pretty woman. In Bublé's words:

I'll be honest with you. As a young man, I was shopping on Rodeo Drive and I went into this expensive store and I walked up to these women and they said, 'If you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can't afford it.' And it really hurt me. And the next day I came back with all my nice things and all this money and said, “Do you do any contract work, ladies?” And they said, “Yes we do,” and I said, “Big mistake.” Large.' And I feel like I could be one of those ladies working on commission today.

It's so extra and I can't get over how committed Michael Bublé is. A few times he simply picked up Gwen Stefani's life story and told an artist that he was in a ska band in the '90s. He also asked a singer to give him the perfect wedding day by joining his team (even though it was actually Stefani's wedding day to Blake Shelton).

It's a bit silly, I admit, but he got me hooked. I can't wait to keep it Watch out The voice to see what stories come next. New episodes air Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
