Steve Cohen and his wife Alex kiss on the field after the Mets' NLDS win

Steve Cohen and his wife Alex sealed the Mets' decisive NLDS victory with a kiss.

The Mets owner and his wife celebrated with a kiss on the field after the Amazin's eliminated the Phillies in Game 4 at Citi Field on Wednesday night to advance to their first NLCS since 2015.

After making the playoffs once and failing to win a playoff series in Cohen's first three seasons as the team's owner, the Mets have now defeated the Brewers and Phillies in the Wild Card Round and NLDS, respectively, to fulfill Cohen's hope of finishing in the top three to win a World Series as owner of the club for up to five years.

The Cohens embraced hero Francisco Lindor after the Mets shortstop, who had carried the team for most of the season, hit an electrifying grand slam in the sixth inning to give the team a 4-1 victory.

It was Lindor's first home run of the postseason and his first since his stunning ninth-inning home run in Game 161 against the Braves that secured the Mets a playoff spot in one of their wildest games ever.

Cohen and the Mets had lowered expectations this season under first-year president David Stearns and rookie manager Carlos Mendoza after failing to repeat the team's 101-win season last season to be further expanded in 2022.

They made less spectacular moves like signing Sean Manaea, Luis Severino and JD Martinez, and after a rocky start, the team rallied in the second half to reach the postseason.

And now they wait for either the Dodgers or the Padres to play for a chance to get to the World Series.
