British YouTuber and TV star charged with rape in Australia

Yung Filly, the British YouTuber, TV star and rapper, has appeared in court in Australia on rape charges.

The 29-year-old presenter of the BBC3 show Hot property was arrested in Brisbane on Tuesday and extradited to Perth, where he appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Deadline has reached out to Filly's rep at UTA for comment.

Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, is alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman in her 20s in his Perth hotel room after performing at a venue in Hillarys, a northern coastal suburb. The incident is said to have occurred on September 28th.

Western Australia Police said Filly faced four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault and one count of obstructing a person's breathing by applying pressure to the neck.

“This investigation is ongoing and Sex Assault Squad investigators are urging anyone with information regarding this matter or similar incidents to call Crime Stoppers,” police added.

Filly has more than 1.8 million subscribers on YouTube, where he is a member of the Beta Squad collective. He has 3.2 million followers on both TikTok and Instagram.

The social media star moved to television several times. He is perhaps best known for hosting two seasons of BBC3's property dating show Hot propertywhich was produced by BBC Studios.

Filly appeared on Channel 4 The big celebrity bake-off in 2022, while ITV has given it airtime Football Aid And The Jonathan Ross Show.
