Lisa Marie Presley admits she 'trapped' her ex by getting pregnant with daughter Riley: memoir

Lisa Marie Presley's posthumous memoir From Here to the Great Unknown details the most intimate parts of her life – including pregnancy with her daughter Riley Keough.

After an abortion – which she described as “the stupidest thing I've ever done” – the late singer admitted she “planned and plotted” to make sure she ovulated when she was with her then-boyfriend Danny Keough went on a cruise ship and his band performed.

“I didn’t care if he wanted to be there or not. “I felt like I had to make it up to you because I still couldn't believe I had an abortion,” Presley wrote, according to People.

“I thought I was going to have this child. There’s a child I absolutely have to have.”

She continued: “I would talk to the lost child and say, 'I'm so sorry, I can't believe I did that.' Please forgive me and stay with me until I get pregnant again.'”

Two weeks later, Presley learned she was pregnant with Riley, who was born in May 1989.

In her memoir, Elvis Presley's daughter admitted that she “trapped” Danny by becoming pregnant, writing: “I didn't mean to, but I did.”

Lisa Marie and Danny were married from 1988 to 1994.

The couple also shared son Benjamin Storm Keough, who was born in 1992. He tragically died in July 2020.

Riley, now 35, said in September that Lisa Marie – who died in January 2023 following complications from surgery – died of a “broken heart” after losing her son.

Lisa Marie's posthumous memoir contains many revelations, including that she kept her son Benjamin's body in her home for two months after his death.

In the book, she also recalls feeling “stuck” with her mother, Priscilla Presley, after finding out that her legendary father had died of a heart attack.

“From Here to the Great Unknown,” released Tuesday, was co-authored by Riley, who transcribed hours of tapes left behind by her mother, Lisa Marie.
