Tesla Introduces Two-Seat, Self-Driving Cybercab: Expected Price Under ,000, With Inductive Charging – Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA)

EV giant Tesla Inc. TSLA on Thursday unveiled its special two-seat robotaxi product, nicknamed Cybercab, complete with upward-opening butterfly wings.

What happened: CEO of the company Elon Musk said at an ongoing event in Los Angeles that Tesla had manufactured 20 units of the vehicle, which took to the stage at the event with the billionaire inside. At first glance, the exterior design of the Cybercab resembles the angular steel body of the Cybertruck.

The design also bears great similarities to the design shared by Musk's biographer Walter Isaacson in his book published last year. According to Musk, the price of the vehicle will be less than $30,000.

Musk also revealed that the Cybercab will not include a charging plug, but will instead use inductive charging.

The company will thus begin autonomous driving Model 3 And Model Y in Texas and California next year and the Cybercab will join the autonomous fleet in 2026 or before 2027, Musk said, adding that he tends to be openly optimistic about the timelines.

The product was unveiled at the “We, Robot” event held by Tesla at the Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. film studio near Los Angeles. Although the event was scheduled to begin at 10pm CT, there was a significant delay of over 50 minutes.

Musk said the event was delayed because one of the guests had a medical emergency.

This is a developing story.
