'Outer Banks' Season 4 Premiere Red Carpet in Charleston | Charleston scene

A line snaked around the block of John Street – from the door to Meeting to Hutson to King – with fans from as far away as Germany in town for a rare Hollywood red carpet moment in Charleston to experience.

It was the world premiere of the fourth season of “Outer Banks” on October 8th at the Charleston Music Hall. The sprawling affair drew MTV, People, Cosmo, Buzzfeed and more to the Lowcountry for coverage. They lined the sand-colored “red” carpet (in keeping with the beach theme of the hit Netflix series), and the show's iconic worn brown VW van with surfboards on top served as a photo backdrop alongside a blown-up logo.

Filmed in Charleston, the action-packed teen treasure-hunting drama has become a global favorite on the streaming platform, peaking at No. 1 for its third season with more than 154 million hours watched in its first four days of release. Since its debut in 2020, young starlets Madelyn Cline (Sarah Cameron), Chase Stokes (John B), Madison Bailey (Kiara), Jonathan Daviss (Pope), Rudy Pankow (JJ), and more have skyrocketed.

The adventurous and down-to-earth Pogues, as they are known, were all in attendance, wearing long gowns, sharp suits and bejeweled accessories. Some Kooks, the series' rivals of wealthy teenagers, were also in attendance, including Drew Starkey (Rafe Cameron), Austin North (Topper) and Deion Smith (Kelce), as well as local actor and comedian Cullen Moss (Deputy Shoupe) and newer cast member Carlacia Grant (Cleo).

Jonas, Josh and Shannon Pate, the creators and executive producers of the stars and shows, all strolled the not-so-red carpet, signing posters for fans, taking selfies and posing for photos with family, friends and cast members. They then spoke to various media outlets about themselves and the upcoming season, including The Post and Courier.
