Brad Pitt's 'facilitated' FBI file remains sealed in legal battle with Angelina Jolie

She was in her element. During a turbulent week in NYC Angelina Jolie hosted two events at her Atelier Jolie studio and then walked the red carpet at the New York Film Festival on September 30th with children Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, and Maddox, 23, before attending on October 1st Pax went out for lunch. She even managed to spend some time with rumored beau, British rapper Akala, who was by her side at two of the events. “She seems really relaxed and happy,” a source says exclusively In contact. “It’s like she’s started a new leaf.”

And she leaves the past behind her. On September 25, Angelina, using the pseudonym “Jane Doe,” officially dropped a lawsuit filed in 2022 against the FBI and the Justice Department related to the investigation into her marital dispute Brad Pitt aboard a private jet in September 2016. “Brad's team has always maintained that they had both already received full reports and this lawsuit was just another way for them to destroy his reputation,” the source says. “But it seems like she’s finally given in.”

Most of the scandalous details have already become public. According to the FBI report, Brad, 60, argued with Maddox before boarding the plane, then got drunk and “imitated the behavior of a monster and yelled at her.” The 49-year-old actress added that she and the children were so “shocked” that she was “frozen and scared and didn't know what to do.” She said she was left with two minor injuries.

In a separate legal battle over her marital home, Château Miraval in France, Angelina's lawyers described the confrontation in more detail. According to legal documents, an intoxicated Brad grabbed Angelina “by the head, shook her and pushed her against the bathroom wall.” He also allegedly told the children: “She’s not feeling well. She ruins the family. She's crazy.” He also “lunged” at a child who tried to intervene, she claimed, and “poured beer on Angelina and the children.” In another filing, she claimed he “choked one of the children and punched another in the face.”

Brad Pitt denied physically abusing his children

Brad admitted to having a drinking problem but denied hitting his children. The LA County Department of Children and Family Services cleared Brad and he was not charged. But Angelina filed a Freedom of Information Act request for all the paperwork, arguing that an FBI agent prepared a probable cause statement and presented it to prosecutors, who refused to take action. “This has contributed to (her) ongoing harm by delegitimizing her experience,” she argued, “making it difficult to provide evidence in ongoing family law proceedings.”

This process is now almost complete as only two of her children are under 18 years old. “Technically this is a win for Brad,” the source says, “but the damage is already done.”
