Nigeria beat Libya for the Dia Afcon 2025 qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium for Uyo on Friday evening.

The game looks set to end in a draw after Nigeria failed to capitalize on most of their chances as substitute Dele Bashiru scored the winning goal after collecting Moses Simon's pass after 86 minutes.

Nigeria works hard for victory without their star Victor Osimhen missing the game due to injury.

This result means Nigeria takes seven points and stays at the top of Group D, beating Rwanda, Libya and Benin.

The Di Super Eagles will face Libya again on matchday four on Tuesday.

Only the top two teams for the 11 groups, excluding tournament host Morocco, qualify for the competition.

24 teams will compete for the 35th edition of the Di Ogbonge football competition, which will take place between December 21st and January 18th, 2025.
