Mets vs. Dodgers prediction, odds and likely pitchers for NLCS Game 1

The Dodgers swept their NL West rival Padres in Game 5 of the NLDS, setting up a rematch from the 2015 postseason with the Mets.

The Mets' torrid run continued into the postseason, defeating their rival Phillies in four games to advance to the NLCS for the first time since 2015 and now travel west to face the Dodgers, with a spot in the World Series is at stake.

While we don't know the Mets' starting pitcher yet, the team has a bevy of starters who are fully rested and the team is projected to be a bit of a road underdog.

Here's our full betting preview for Sunday's Game 1.

Mets: Still open

Dodgers: Jack Flaherty (0-1, 6.75)

New York Mets

Francisco Lindor: The NL MVP contender continues to show up when the Mets need him most, hitting a grand slam in Game 4 to defeat the Phillies. New York's shortstop was the catalyst for the team's second-half run. Can he continue his heroic journey west?

Los Angeles Dodgers

Shohei Ohtani: Ohtani only hit .200 in the NLDS, but his impact on the entire lineup is crucial as the team must work around him with his devastating power. The clear favorite to win the NL MVP title will look to keep the Mets at bay and find his postseason form in his second series.

The Dodgers got a big performance from Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 5 to slow down the Padres lineup, but LA's pitching staff was shaky all postseason, lacking quality arms that could go long into games.

Meanwhile, the Mets were able to have nearly their entire pitching staff pitching in a timely manner during that team's extended postseason play, in which the team faced the team for nearly a month.

Flaherty was blown away at home by the Padres, and the Mets bring in a powerhouse lineup that has been in slump. While Lindor hit the clutch grand slam, Mark Vientos hit .562 in the NLDS and Pete Alonso has found his power in the last week or so.

At this price, I'm happy to grab the Mets to get their first win of the series.

PICK: Mets +135
