Former Chicago Cubs third base coach fired as manager by Cincinnati Reds

The Chicago Cubs are not the only team with problems in Major League Baseball.

These teams include the Cincinnati Reds, who are fourth in the National League Central with a record of 76-81.

At the beginning of the year, the Reds, like the Cubs, were expected to perform well, but instead they struggled and fired head coach David Bell, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

The decision to fire him is not surprising. Cincinnati has played well below average in two of the last three seasons.

“David has given us the consistency we needed in our clubhouse over the last few seasons. We felt a change was needed to move the major league team forward. We weren't achieving the success we expected,” general manager Nick Krall said, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

Bell has ties to Chicago, having served as the team's third base coach in 2013. The Cubs were one of the worst teams in baseball that year, finishing the year with a record of 66-69.

Despite these draws, this is also big news for the National League Central as a whole.

It will be interesting to see who they sign in the offseason, as this move could impact Chicago's future.

This may be the first of many changes within the division, even among the Cubs.

Chicago has some difficult decisions to make regarding its management and coaching staff, especially Jed Hoyer.

If they decide to separate from him, it will likely happen in the next few weeks.

Much like the Reds, it's better to get these things done as early as possible.
