200 in 14 overs, record total, 5 6s in 1 over: All records of India in Sanju Samson Storm against Bangladesh

Team India rewrote history books in the third and final T20I against Bangladesh in Hyderabad on Friday. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side posted their highest ever T20I total of 297/6 runs, which is also the highest total among Test playing nations. India's record-breaking night in Hyderabad was fueled by Sanju Samson's signature knock of 111 in just 47 balls. Samson hit 11 fours and eight sixes, including five maximums in the 10th over bowled by Rishad Hossain. This was Samson's maiden T20I century and it took him just 40 balls to achieve it.

India's total of 297/6 is now the second best ever in the shortest format of the game. Nepal's 314/3, which they achieved against Mongolia in 2019, is the highest. However, India surpassed Afghanistan's 278/3 against Ireland, which was previously the best score among Test playing nations.

After Suryakumar Yadav opted to bowl, India reached 82/1 in six overs, the joint best Powerplay figure for them in T20Is. India then reached the 100-run mark in 7.1 overs, which is a record for the country.

India were 152/1 midway through the innings, a personal best for the team. India needed just 14 overs to record the second fastest 200m run by a team in the T20I format. Only South Africa are ahead of India, having got there in 13.5 overs against West Indies at Centurion last year.

In total, India's innings had 47 boundaries, which is another record. The Indian batters also hit 22 sixes, the third highest by any team in a T20I innings.

Meanwhile, Samson is the only Indian wicketkeeper to score a century in T20Is. His score of 111 is also the highest by a batsman for India against Bangladesh.

He also now has the fastest 50 for India against Bangladesh. He reached the milestone in just 22 balls, which is one quicker than Rohit, now retired from T20Is, who achieved this in Rajkot in 2019.

Furthermore, Samson is the third fastest centurion in the history of T20I cricket. South Africans David Miller and Rohit are joint at the top as they needed just 35 balls each to reach the milestone.

The Indian team scored 10 runs or more in 18 of the 20 overs. They now hold the record for most run overs over 10 in men's T20 cricket.

Samson and Suryakumar put together a 173-run partnership in just 61 balls, the second highest in T20Is. The rollicking 193 partnership between Nepal's Kushal Malla and Rohit Paudel still stands as the highest partnership in the history of the T20I format.
