Alabama comes into this matchup with a 4-1 record, but the team has a 1-1 record in SEC play. Of note, the Crimson Tide beat Georgia 41-34 a few weeks ago. However, Alabama followed that performance with a terrible 40-35 loss to Vanderbilt.

During the loss, Alabama's defense allowed a total of 418 yards. The Crimson Tide gained 252 passing yards and 166 yards on the ground. Alabama's poor defensive play allowed Vanderbilt to have the ball for more than 42 minutes, leading to the upset.

Alabama's offense played well, totaling 394 yards. The team's star quarterback, Jalen Milroe, threw for more than 300 yards and a touchdown. His main target was freshman wide receiver Ryan Williams, who finished the game with 82 receiving yards and two total touchdowns. If Alabama's defense continues to struggle today, the Crimson Tide will have to rely heavily on their offense.

South Carolina enters this matchup with a record of 3-2 and the team suffered a 27-3 loss to Ole Miss. The Gamecocks will be looking to bounce back this week after failing to score any points in the second half against Ole Miss.
