Shad Khan: I still believe in Doug Pederson and Trent Baalke

Shortly before the start of the regular season, Jaguars owner Shad Khan said: “Win now is the expectation,” because he felt the current team was the best assembled in franchise history.

The Jaguars have clearly missed those expectations over the last five weeks. The Jaguars lost their first four games before picking up a win over the Colts last Sunday, but Khan said Saturday that the results haven't changed his perception of the team “at all.”

Khan told Demetrius Harvey about it Florida Times-Union that he admires the work of head coach Doug Pederson and general manager Trent Baalke and asks himself, “How can we help them achieve better results and more wins.”

“I still believe in herKhan said. “I believe in the players, I believe in the coaching staff. I believe in Trent. Of course the results are disappointing for all of them, just as they are for me or any other Jaguar fan, but the most important thing to understand is that we have evolved and have really reached a level. I think we have the players, we have the coaching, we have the facilities.”

The Jaguars are in London for the next two weeks and back-to-back wins over the Bears and Patriots in their second home would give the Jaguars a path to the results Khan had wanted for the season. Anything less could be cause for Khan to reconsider his feelings about Pederson, Baalke and the direction of the franchise.
