Odds and predictions for the final between Georgia Football and Mississippi State

Georgia football and Mississippi State will square off at Sanford Stadium in Athens in the Bulldogs' sixth game of the season and fourth in the SEC. UGA is looking to improve its 4-1 record and build some momentum as a monster showdown against Texas looms.

Georgia still has many difficult games on its schedule, but this is not one of them. Mississippi State is 1-4 this season and has one of the worst losses in the country when Toledo faced Starkvile and beat MSU 41-17.

In this case, you can rightly assume that Georgia is the big favorite in this game.

According to ESPNBet, Georgia is a 34-point favorite against Mississippi State on October 12 at 8:00 a.m. EST. The over-under is also set at 54.5 points.

No one will be surprised to hear that I'm predicting Georgia will win over Mississippi State today. In fact, I would guess that no one, not even Mississippi State fans, will predict an upset win for MSU in this game either. But what's more fun in this game is the final result and whether UGA will cover.

I see Georgia (finally) getting off to a fast start and leading by 24 points at halftime. That would put them well on track to equalize the points lead, but I think Kirby Smart will give the Georgia substitutes plenty of time and I don't think he will try to increase the score.

But I still think Georgia will pull it off and get the 34 points, especially because their defense will shut the ball down and keep Mississippi State out of the end zone for most of the game. Given UGA's solid defensive play, I expect the Under to strike as well.

Final Prediction: Georgia wins 45-7
