Utah Jazz vs. San Antonio summary and final score

The Utah Jazz fought hard against the San Antonio Spurs, but it wasn't enough and they lost 126-120.

With the Jazz resting several players, including Lauri Markkanen, Keyonte George, Jordan Clarkson, Patty Mills and John Collins, the youth movement was on full display. Isaiah Collier got the start and had some impressive moments commanding the offense. Unfortunately, Collier had to leave the game with a hamstring injury and did not return.

It's not clear how big the injury is, but Utah is already starting to address the injury issue.

The other young player who really showed flashes tonight was Cody Williams, who had one of the best nights in the Jazz. Williams had 17 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists, doing so while going 6/10 from the field 34 from three. If Williams can consistently put up these types of numbers, the Jazz will have another pick on their hands.

Collin Sexton also had a great performance in this game, with Collier taking the lead on offense the rest of the game. Sexton went 8/16 from the field and 4/9 from three with 24 points and 8 assists. It's a great performance from Sexton on offense that shows he can be a real force offensively no matter who else is on the field. This season it will be really interesting to see what the Jazz do with Sexton. He was involved in many trade rumors last season, and if other teams ask, he could bring some nice tips for the Jazz in return. If the Jazz want him to be part of the future, they can do that too. Sexton was a great part of the team and demonstrated great character and leadership. It's a win-win for the Jazz no matter what they decide.

A tough loss for the Jazz, who continue to learn more about their young players. The development is already visible and you realize that this season's minutes will be much more valuable than anything they were last season. It's nice to see that the Jazz have a pretty clear direction. Let's just hope they realize they want to work toward a top pick in an extensive 2025 draft.
