2025 NFL Draft: CBS Sports releases updated mock draft with an impactful trade

Over the six weeks of the college football season, stars have emerged with some great performances. This has caught the attention of people at the next level as they prepare for the 2025 NFL Draft in April.

CBS Sports has released its latest mock draft, projecting all 32 first-round picks. There is also an influential trade that would shake up the entire landscape.

This year could be an offensive-heavy class, at least at the top. Of the first 10 selections, all but two (maybe 2.5) are offensive players. You can check out all 32 first-round picks below.

Greg McElroy believes Travis Hunter could ultimately be one of the best players in college football history.

Two players for the price of one? New England could certainly get that if they select Hunter No. 1 overall. Shortly before Drake Maye makes its first NFL start, CBS Sports plans to add a weapon.

Defensive coordinator DeMarcus Covington would also be very happy with the selection and would add a talented cornerback to his team. Hunter is a special prospect and would play a key role in New England's rebuild.

Michigan has become the best defense in college football this season, and the NFL Draft should show it. In this mock draft, Graham is the first of two impressive defensive tackles off the field.

Graham would move to Ohio State and play for the Bengals. A tough start to the season in Cincinnati means they are expected to be one of the top picks early.

It will be a battle to become the best offensive tackle in this year's draft. CBS Sports has Banks coming out on top, going No. 3 overall to the Jaguars. A new body for protection Trevor Lawrence.

Vince Young was the last Texas player to be drafted into the top three, doing so since 2006. Banks would certainly make history for the Longhorns as he was also the program's first first-round offensive lineman since then Mike Williams in 2002.

Cleveland handed out one of the most lucrative contracts in NFL history Deshaun Watson and the results were extremely disappointing. From a financial perspective, there aren't many options to get out of the deal either.

Still, Jalen Milroe will be one of the top quarterbacks discussed during draft season. His athletic ability is obvious and he seems to be developing quite well Kalen DeBoer.

Similar to Banks, Campbell has been protecting the quarterback's blind side since his freshman season. Not many people can do that at a high level, especially in the SEC.

Now a team has the opportunity to sign a player many see as a future long-time left tackle. The Rams are currently predicted to have a 1-4 start to the season.

6. Carolina Panthers – Miami QB Cam Ward

Carolina made her intentions known Bryce Young clearly to put him on the bench Andy Dalton. While there are currently no plans to trade Young, the message has been sent that things should move forward.

Ward almost entered the 2024 NFL Draft but has been on a roll since arriving in Miami. If he continues to play well for the Hurricanes, he will only continue to rise.

Running back draft values had been declining for a few years, but Jeanty is a little different. The Boise State running back is clearly the best player at the position and would be an immediate impact player no matter which team selects him.

If it finishes in the top 10, it would be the second time in three years that a running back has been selected there. Bijan Robinson the Atlanta Falcons was the last after his similarly electrifying career in Texas.

8. Miami Dolphins-Michigan CB Will Johnson

Johnson has been a star since arriving in Ann Arbor as a true freshman. When Michigan reached its national championship last season, many defensive talents stood out, but Johnson received the most praise.

The Dolphins have been hit with injury after injury this season and the wins haven't been as expected. If they make it into the top ten, it would be a nice consolation to walk away with an impact defender like Johnson.

Wide receiver has become an extremely valuable position in the NFL as there have been many draft players in the top 10 in recent years. McMillan has a chance to be the newest and potentially play with one of the game's greatest, Aaron Rodgers (Or maybe another newbie?)

Some of the numbers McMillan has already put forward are crazy. In five games, McMillan has caught 36 passes for 664 yards (an average of 17.9 yards per reception) and four touchdowns. Every team in the NFL would want that kind of production.

10. Las Vegas Raiders-Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders

Coach Prime was vocal and said he would make sure his son was okay in the end, much like he was Eli Manning did it back then. No official list has been provided, but there is no doubt the talent will be there for interested teams.

Las Vegas already has its second quarterback of the season and doesn't have a franchise guy to move on with. Sanders would solve their problems and give them an immediate boost at the position – on and off the field.

11. Arizona Cardinals – Kentucky DT Deone Walker
12. Indianapolis Colts – Georgia S Malaki Starks
13. San Francisco 49ers – Notre Dame CB Benjamin Morrison
14. New York Giants-Texas QB Quinn Ewers
15. Philadelphia Eagles – Missouri WR Luther's burden
16. New Orleans Saints-LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier
17. Chicago Bears – Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter
18. Green Bay Packers – Minnesota OT Aireontae Ersery
19. Los Angeles Chargers-Michigan DT Kenneth Grant
20. Pittsburgh Steelers – East Carolina CB Shavon Revel Jr.
21. Seattle Seahawks-LSU OT Emery Jones Jr.
22. Denver Broncos-Michigan TE Colston Loveland
23. Dallas Cowboys – Texas A&M EDGE Nic Scourton
24. Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Georgia EDGE Mykel Williams
25. Buffalo Bills – Ohio State WR Emeka Egbuka
26. Baltimore Ravens-Ohio State OT Josh Simmons
27. Atlanta Falcons – Tennessee EDGE James Pearce Jr.
28. Detroit Lions-Ohio State EDGE Jack Sawyer
29. Washington Commanders-Ohio State CB Denzel Burke
30. Houston Texans – South Carolina DT TJ Sanders
31. Kansas City Chiefs-LSU LB Harold Perkins Jr.
32. New York Jets (trade via Minnesota Vikings) – Georgia QB Carson Beck

The big value is 32, with the Jets going back to the first round to select a quarterback. They choose Beck and perhaps give them their next QB of the future, sitting behind Aaron Rodgers for now.
