Trump takes the Coachella stage to woo deep blue California voters

Former President Donald Trump angered California's liberal leaders at a large rally in Coachella on Saturday after Hollywood movie star Dennis Quaid took the stage and told the crowd to “pick a side.”

“The radical left Democrats have destroyed this state, but we will save it. We will do better than ever before,” Trump told his supporters, many of whom braved the 30-degree heat at the outdoor rally.

“We will not let (Harris) destroy our country like she did in San Francisco,” Trump cheered.

“It’s a paradise lost, but we’re going to bring it back,” Trump said, adding, “Don’t worry, we’re going to bring it back. It’s going to be quick.”

He then raved about the great heights that California once represented.

“Through generations of American history, California has been a beacon of what our country wanted to become,” Trump said. “It had everything. It had the weather. It had the water. The state had the best schools, the safest communities and a booming middle class.

“But all of that has been eradicated by the very policies that Kamala Harris now wants to impose on America,” Trump added.

“Today, California has the highest inflation, the highest taxes, the highest gasoline prices, the highest cost of living, the most regulations, the most expensive utilities, the most homelessness, the most crime, the most dereliction, and the most illegal immigrants. Trump added: “Otherwise I think you’re doing pretty well.”

The Republican candidate called Harris a radical and insisted on her recent media mistake.

Harris said on “The View” Tuesday that she would not change any of the Biden administration's decisions over the past four years. Trump has played a video compilation at his rallies that pairs Harris' comments with news clips detailing the administration's policy failures, including rising real estate prices and the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“Kamala Harris got you in this mess and only Trump can get you out of it, we will get you out of it,” the ex-Prez said.

The Trump campaign released a list of speakers ahead of the former president's speech.

Former White House senior adviser Stephen Miller, Texas Congressman Wesley Hunt and Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz all made remarks – but actor Dennis Quaid stole the show.

The Tinseltown star – who recently played President Ronald Reagan in the film of the same name, “Reagan” – addressed the crowd and implored them to get out and vote for Donald Trump.

“I’m here today to tell you that it’s time to choose a side,” Quaid said, donning a red MAGA and blue T-shirt to deliver a fiery speech: “Will “Are we going to be a nation that stands up for the Constitution or for… TikTok?”

Quaid further compared the current year to the 1980 election, in which Ronald Reagan took office at a time of high inflation and low national morale.

“Reagan is my favorite president of the 20th century,” Quaid said, “Donald Trump is my favorite president of the 21st century.”

Dennis was in attendance along with his brother Randy Quaid, who is an avid Trump supporter.

Trump also targeted two of his other favorite California targets — Gov. Gavin Newsom and Congressman Adam Schiff.

The 45th president nicknamed Newsom “Gavin Newscum” and called him the “worst governor in the country.”

Trump also called California congressman and current Senate candidate Schiff “a real moron” and called for him to be impeached over the Russia collusion investigation that Schiff led in Congress.

The last time a Republican presidential candidate won California was in 1988 – when then-Vice President George HW Bush took over the mantle from former California Governor Ronald Reagan.

Trump campaigned in the Golden State, even though it is anything but a swing state. He received just 34% of the vote in California in the 2020 presidential election and 31% of the vote in 2016.

“With your vote, I will act urgently and quickly to save America and the people of California from the cruel failings of Kamala Harris,” Trump said in summary.
