Texans announce official game call for Joe Mixon vs. Patriots

So far this season, the Houston Texans have looked like one of the better teams in the entire league. They will have a crucial part of their offensive attack back for their Week 6 game against the New England Patriots.

Running back Joe Mixon will be active for this contest after missing the last two weeks due to injury. His return should help make Houston's offense a little more dynamic and will be a welcome addition to the lineup.

Getting Mixon back for this game could drastically improve their chances of winning. Without him, the Texans' rushing attack has faltered a bit in the last few games.

Houston has averaged just 78 yards on the ground without its star running back, forcing them to be a bit more one-dimensional on offense. But since Mixon practiced several times this week, it was a good sign that he's back to health.

The team was able to limit his touches in this game against New England to get him back into the flow of the offense. We won't know until he steps on the field, but the team understands how important he is to their plans.

While Mixon was out, backup Cam Akers took over the starting role and also saw some carries. If anything, Akers and Mixon's breakup this week could mean Mixon isn't forced to go full throttle again.

The last thing Houston wants is for Mixon to get hurt again or make anything worse. The Texans have Super Bowl aspirations this season, so ensuring Mixon is fully ready for the long run of the season will be crucial.

New England will be using rookie quarterback Drake Maye in this game, which may cause some problems for the Texans. While the Patriots haven't been very good this season, especially on offense, Maye gives them a different dynamic.

Aside from his college years, there aren't many feature films about Maye either. This could give New England a slight advantage heading into this matchup.

If the Texans execute their game plan, they should be able to pull out the win. This team has a 4-1 record this season and will look to bring home another win on the road against New England.
