Nick Bosa hopes for 49ers win over Seahawks and long layoff against Chiefs – NBC Sports Bay Area and California

At this stage of the 2024 NFL season, a win can do wonders – both psychologically and statistically.

The 49ers' 36-24 road win over the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night at Lumen Field moved San Francisco into a tie atop the NFC West, sparking a sense of relief from star defensive end Nick Bosa.

“Yes, it’s huge,” Bosa told reporters Thursday evening. “Of course it was a big victory. Now we have some time to get a few guys healthy.”

But can the victory also be the positive momentum that leads to a victory over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs at Levi's Stadium in Week 7?

Bosa believes so.

“We have a long way to go,” Bosa added. “It starts with the team we haven't beaten since I've been here. I'm definitely trying to get the monkey off our backs with this.

With Thursday's win, the 49ers put the bitterness of their winning streak against NFC West opponents this season behind them while proving they want no part of being one of the NFL's worst red zone teams.

Now San Francisco will have a quick goodbye before returning to action on Sunday, October 20, in what is not only a showpiece matchup but also a rematch of Super Bowl LVIII.

Maybe San Francisco will capitalize on all of its success in Seattle and get a win against Kansas City for the first time since 2014.

That is the hope for Bosa and Co.
